I read when I travel, it's what I do. I purchased my usual complement of financial magazines, poured over Auburn's student newspaper, and digested the hotel's complementary USA Today (they "welcomed me back" when I checked in; I suppose I have been on a lot of boon-doggles to Auburn lately). Though I am still a bit livid by the USA Today poll in which people said Social Security will be broke in 25 years (no, no, no; it will have to change, but you will get Social Security when you retire), I've decided this latest stint of travelling means I should, well, post about travel.
One of my magazines was talking up a website at www.cfares.com. Discount travel organizations have the ability to buy hard to move airline tickets at wholesale prices, and resale them to tour operators, travel agents, and cruise lines. CFares does just that, but then they sale them to the public directly. You have to join the site (~$50) to get these cut rate offerings, but the magazine claimed that on international flights, you would often make that back on just one trip. I say it's time to leave the country again next year, so maybe this is the way to save a little cash.
